Today is the 7th day of #laurenbrooksfitness, #21daysofsquats which is the end of the first week. Today is 50 squats, either body weight squats or with a weight. I am dong 50 goblet squats with a 20 pound kettlebell. As I zone in on my form the squats get easier. If you haven’t yet watched Lauren Brooks video on form, I highly recommend you take the time to watch them. I teach others how to use kettlebells, and I still got a lot out of the video. Also they do not take long to watch. I love knowing what I am going to do especially on these dark winter days when my motivation is low. Once I get the squats done, I am often motivated to do more. Today though I didn’t have much time I added a tabata of Russian kettlebell swings for good measure. Those quick yet effective workouts are mood lifters for me. One of my massage clients, who had taken my beginner kettlebell class this fall, told me today that between using her kettlebell and doing the short daily workouts I had been posting, all her low back pain disappeared! That made my day! I love the fact that she is a busy mama with a young toddler and not very much time to workout. Yet she could fit these simple workouts in and get relief from a long term ache.
