Day 8 of Lauren Brooks 21 days of squats fitness challenge. I decided to take her challenge and post about it here so that any of you who have been following my daily workout blog can join in too. http://laurenbrooks.laurenbrookstraining.com/2015/12/21-day-squat-challenge-21daysofsquats.html
Today we go back to only 20 squats but we are going to up our weight. So if you did just a body weight squat last week, this week you will add weight. I have been doing goblet squats with the 20 pound kettlebell. I am going to go big and move up to the 30 pound kettlebell goblet squat. 20 squats with more weight than you used last week. Go thrive team! Thanks Lauren for giving us an nice fun way to improve our functional fitness and strength through the first few days of January. Squats are so universal and use so many muscles in the body, all working together. Squats are great for building muscles all over which then translates into fat loss. Squats also increase mobility and flexibility as they increase strength. The functionality is connected to how much they translate to real life and preventing injuries by creating better muscle balance between front and posterior muscles. Just a couple reminders why we are doing this…. Happy Friday!
