Day 5 of our 29 days of tabatas and we are doing a tabata of squats, 20 seconds of as many perfect form squats as you can muster and then 10 seconds rest and repeat 7 times for 8 times total= 4 minutes. These are body weight squats but if you want to add a weight and do goblet squats that is absolutely fine. With our squats we focus on neutral back and neck ( straight but with natural curves) and keeping our knees behind our toes and our shins vertical. We soften our knees but really engage the move by sliding our hips back and letting them hinge, keeping our back straight. We track our knees over our middle toe and are careful not to let them collapse in. To create more stabilization we can slightly externally rotate our legs keeping our toes facing forward before we start the squat. At the top we really squeeze our gluts and stand up straight with chest open. This should feel pretty energizing almost like you are pumping yourself up. Happy Friday!
