Day 8 of our 30 days of self care, and how are you feeling? The goal of this 30 day challenge is do something for your own care everyday (10 minutes minimal). It can be something that is caring for your body, your mind, your heart, your soul but something that is for your health and wellbeing. Have you noticed any difference since you have been giving yourself some focused self care? What is the best thing you have done to take care of yourself since we started? Today was a highlight for me. The morning was rainy and cold but my family had rented a boat to celebrate my son’s 30th birthday. We braved the cold and wet to be on the lake. In the afternoon the sun finally came out, and we all took a short nap in the sun. The combination of the sun on my face, the gentle rocking of the boat, and my dear family all close by and sleepy too felt so delicious. I realized there was nothing else that needed to be done. The nap was like pure gold. Taking a nap is a good form of self care, but taking nap in a beautiful open space with my loved ones made it even better. Self care does not need to be isolating. We need to find ways to care for ourselves even as we interact with others.
