Day 20 of Exquisite Self Care~ Quench My Thirst

Day 20 of our exquisite day of self care, and I am quenching my thirst, increasing my hydration through better water consumption. Water, baby, one the the essentials of life! The water in the universe is created as a by product of star formation. Scientists will tell me I am 70% water and I like the idea. Water is the only substance occurring naturally in all three phases as solid, liquid, and gas on Earth’s surface, and covering nearly the same percent, 71% of the earth’s surface. Water is vital for all known forms of life. Water is both vital as a solvent and as an essential part of the metabolic processes in the body. Dehydration can cause dry skin, constipation, headaches, dizziness, disorientation, irritation, low blood pressure, and more. For more than a year I have been having a cup of water first thing in the morning before I have coffee or anything else. I noticed that getting that habit in place made me more aware of my thirst through out the day. I am trying to drink water often and develop the habit of carrying a water bottle everywhere. I have found adding some slices of lemon or just a bit of unsweetened cranberry juice or sweet tart cherry juice makes the water taste even better and makes me drink more. Today my aim is 2 liters! Sometimes it is the simple things that bring us the best results. Drinking more water makes my skin and eyes look better, increases my energy, helps me sleep better, and improves my metabolism. Yes fill my glass again!!
