Music has been a love and passion of mine for my whole life. I do not have any special musical talent, just an ear and a desire to move. Music makes me dance. My earliest memory is of dancing to music. I was lucky to be exposed to a wide variety of music because my parents loved all kinds of music. Folk, rock, soul, r&b,pop, classical, blues and jazz all formed the soundtrack of my childhood. My father loved to collect albums and loved to dj. Some of my happiest family moments growing up were connected to listening to music or dancing together. I had parents that like to see live music and took me to concerts. I loved the energy of live music and knew even then how lucky I was. I still love to see live music for the incredible buzz it can give you. Today a friend came by and talk so positively of the various concerts she had managed to catch the night before and it was fun to see how the music still lit her up. Music can make us feel… all different kinds of ways but mainly alive. Music can lift me up or let me get it out if I am blue. Music can soothe me or stimulate me. Music makes the world a better place to live. So today my exquisite self care is indulge in some music healing by listening to some old favorites and discovering some new artists. Today music is my joy medicine! The picture is from one of my favorite bands Big Sadie with Collin on guitar, Elise on bass and Jess on fiddle, and lucky me, Collin and Elise are my brother & sister in laws. Elise’s sister and brother: Natalie and Elliot are in a band called Wild Belle which is also a favorite. Check Big Sadie and Wild Belle out if you need some fresh tunes.
