Kettlebell Class Time~ Strength to Thrive

Kettlebell Class Time~ Strength to Thrive

Summer time and the warm weather invites us to move and to feel strong and flexible in our body. For me a kettlebell practice has made a huge difference in how I feel in my daily life. It has made it easier to do the things I love like gardening, hiking, dancing, etc. A kettlebell practice will increase your strength, flexibility, balance, and heart health. You can get double the results in half the time. That has definitely been my experience. I can spend less time exercising and yet get great results. Don’t take my word for it, check out this study done by the American Council of Exercise: https://www.acefitness.org/getfit/studies/kettlebells012010.pdf. This summer I will offer three kettlebell class options for you to get some kettlebells in your life this summer: 1) 5 Week Beginner Kettlebell Series, 2) Drop In Kettlebell Class, and 3) a 30 Minute Warm Up & KB Workout. 1) 5 week beginner kettlebell class will help you learn all the skills to have your own at home kettlebell practice with an emphasis on proper form and safety. I fell in love with kettlebells and thought they were a little magic because the results were so huge. I wanted to share them but because I am a massage therapist by trade, I thought it would be really cheesy if someone got hurt in one of my classes. Also I can’t afford for my workouts to hurt me. I have to be able to continue to work and use my body constantly. So I teach in a way that will support you in the rest of your life and keep you safe. Each class will have a warm up, an instruction and a workout 2) drop in kettlebell class is for folks who can’t commit to a series and just want to see if it is right for them and show up when it works for them. Ekah yoga normally has yoga classes that are ongoing so this stays more in the flow of their regular classes. Each class will be adjusted to the skill level of the students that are present that day. Each class will have a warm up, an instruction and a workout. 3)A 30 minute warm up & kb workout is for folks who have some comfort level with the kettlebell and want to workout with a group. Each class will have a warm up and workout. No instruction (unless needed). Each class will be at the lovely Ekah Yoga Studio at 615 N Fairview St by the B-line. 5 Week Beginner Kettlebell Series: Tuesday 6-7pm starting June 14, Drop In Kettlebell cCass: Wednesday 9-10 am starting June 15, and 30 Minute Warmup & KB Workout: Tuesday 5:30-6pm starting June 14 You can sign up at ekahyoga.com.
